PARIS, FRA. - Scottie Scheffler claimed the gold medal in a thrilling final round of Olympic Golf in Paris. Scheffler secured the victory with an impressive nine-under-par performance, showcasing flawless ball striking and precise approach shots to the receptive pins at Le Golf National.
This win adds to an already remarkable year for Scheffler. Here’s a breakdown of his 2024 achievements:
Victories:
• Arnold Palmer Invitational
• Players Championship
• The Masters
• RBC Heritage
• The Memorial
• Travelers Championship
• The Olympics
In addition to his on-course success, Scheffler and his wife Meredith welcomed their son Bennett in May. However, May also saw a controversial incident during the PGA Championship, where Scheffler was wrongfully arrested following a misunderstanding involving a police officer. The incident, which occurred after a tragic accident involving a pedestrian and a bus on Shelbyville Road in Louisville, is believed by many to have affected Scheffler’s performance in Round 3, as the emotional toll of the arrest may have impacted his play. No one asked me, but I agree with those people.
Analyzing the statistics, Scheffler’s season has been Tiger-esque. In the final rounds of major championships and the Olympics this year, he has averaged an impressive score of 67.8. This level of domination on the golf course is reminiscent of Tiger Woods in his prime. Congratulations, Scottie—your achievements have made the nation proud.
