There’s a new QB1 in town, Meet Brock Vandagriff

@CoachRyanKY

LEXINGTON- Following disappointment with Devin Leary, Kentucky fans anticipated that their next starting quarterback would emerge from the transfer portal. Guided by their esteemed Head Coach, the fans ponied up to secure yet another highly regarded transfer portal prospect, Brock Vandagriff.

Vandagriff, a 22-year-old junior transfer from the University of Georgia, brings considerable potential. Before his tenure with the Bulldogs, he was a five-star recruit from Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart, GA. Initially committed to the University of Oklahoma, Vandagriff ultimately chose to play for his home state school.

Despite limited playing time at Georgia, Vandagriff’s 6’3”, 220-pound frame suggests he has the physical attributes desirable for a quarterback. At a recent Spring Practice, his performance showcased exceptional short-to-mid range arm strength, consistently giving his receivers opportunities to make catches—something that was notably lacking in his predecessor’s performances. Vandagriff is a pass-first quarterback but poses a dual threat with his running ability, maintaining accuracy while throwing on the run.

Georgia Bulldogs Defensive Back Malaki Starks remarked at SEC Media Days, “Brock’s not a slider,” highlighting Vandagriff’s tendency to face defenders head-on, reminiscent of Will Levis during his first year at Kentucky.

Many consider Vandagriff a potential early-round NFL Draft pick, which bodes well for the Wildcats’ future.
